The Oriental is essentially a Siamese cat but with not-point coat collar. Some other cat breeds are also supposed to be used in the breeding. The breeding was started in 1950's in UK, the breed was finally recognized in the 1970's.

The Oriental's body, like the Siamese's one, is slender and elongated. The legs is long, the ears are long large ears. The large eyes are almond-shaped.

Orientals make communicative and intelligent pets. They can demand attention urgently and are quite vocal. They are agile, full of energy and easy trained.
