The Sibirian is a primordial russian cat breed. These cats have been known for hundreds years in Russia, but the breed was formally recognized only at the end of the 20 century. The first breed standard was adopted in 1988, the selection being started. Before that time the breed had been formed due to natural selection.

They have strong, muscular and massive body. The head is big and broad. The muzzle is in the form of a trapeze. The long hair on the neck make a full "collar" around the head looking like fox's one. All colour are acceptable.The sibirian is considered a semi longhair breed, but their hair is in fact rather long and thick, especially in winter. In contradistinction from Persian the Sibirian coat doesn't requires any special care.

Sibirians are very natural breed, possessing good health. These cats are independent by nuture and at the same time are very gentle and loyal to the family they live with. They are agile and playfull. Sibirians are very natural breed, possessing good health.

Being rare in their home country the Sibirian is very rare and in high demand abroad.
